Amazing Things Happen Here Picture

Amanda HargroveClassroom Library

I am a proud Mt. Pleasant High School graduate! I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Tennessee State University and later earned my Master’s degree as a Reading Specialst and Education Specialist Degree in Administration from Carson-Newman University. I began teaching in 2013 and am excited to be back teaching in the Mt. Pleasant community!

I live in the country with my husband and our 2 daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading, and being outside.

I am so thankful to be a part of the Mt. Pleasant Kindergarten team! I know we are going to have a wonderful year!

Kindergarten Sight Word List

SeeSaw:  This is a free app we use in our classroom to send reminders, communicate with parents and send videos and pictures throughout the day and week. It is a great way for me to get in touch with a parent quickly and for them to keep up with what is happening in our class!

ABCYA: A free website to practice ELA and Math skills. You can click on the appropriate grade level and then there are fun engaging games for students to play with sight words, letter recognition, letter sounds, numbers, addition, subtraction, etc.

Starfall: A fun free website that can be used to help with reading and math skills. There are sing-a-long songs, nursery rhymes and even seasonal activities for students to do.

PBS Kids: This is always a number one website with kindergarten students. Yes, there are videos for them to watch like Wild Kratts, Daniel Tiger and things like that, but there are also games that go along with those shows that can be fun and educational.
